When the reconstruction of the No 1 court at one of the UK’s most iconic sport venues, Wimbledon took place between 2017 – 2019, Paul was there to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate all health and safety practices. The £70m project now has a retractable roof and increased capacity by 900, up to 12,400 – no mean feat!
Careful liaison with key stakeholders took place before, during and after project completion to ensure complete compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. These regulations apply to the whole construction process. Paul ensured that each duty holder knew their exact role to comply with the law to ensure the project was carried out in a way that secures health, safety & welfare of all onsite.
173 ton of precast concrete terracing units onto which the spectator seating has been located as well as 12.2 ton of precast concrete step units were supplied. Paul also worked closely with the client throughout this 2-year build programme to ensure all product specifications and delivery requirements were met.
